Although Education News states there are only three sonography schools in Conneccticut, the National Center for Education Statistics lists four colleges. Additionally, there are two CT hospitals that offer diagnostic medical sonography programs. Once students have completed training, they must obtain certification so they can be licensed. Licensing requirements vary by state. To be eligible for certification, the program they’ve completed must be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a similar accrediting agency. Students interested in learning what type of ultrasound technician schools CT has to offer can check with the CAAHEP website for a current listing.

The didactic training involves classroom studies and lab courses.
